A formal desk has been established on May 10, 2021 under Department of Umūr ‘Āmma (General affairs) for the sponsorship & settlement of refugees under the PSR (Private Sponsorship for Refugees) program, especially Group of 5 and CS.

There are many Ahmadi families who have taken refuge in different parts of the world because they were persecuted due to their faith. We are fortunate and blessed that we are living in a safe country where we can express and enjoy our religion freely. Now, it is obligatory on us to help our brothers and sisters in distress who have been persecuted in the name of their religion. This way we can be grateful to Allah for all the blessings that He has showered on us.

HERE ARE A FEW WAYS AVAILABLE TO YOU THROUGH THE REFUGEE SPONSORSHIP AND SETTLEMENT DESK (RSSD)

1 – GROUPS OF FIVE (G5)

We will help you to process the application from start to finish. Please come forward to sponsor your family members, friends, people of your cities/towns, people of your acquaintances who have taken refuge in different parts of the world.

WHO CAN BE SPONSORED

1. A refugee holding a UNHCR card (Refugee Status Document)
2. Be outside of their country of nationality or country of habitual residence
3. Settlement funds MUST NOT be provided by the refugees

OUR RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Sponsoring Group we agree to provide the refugees with care, lodging, settlement assistance and support for the duration of 12 months (the sponsorship period) including:

• Reception and lodging
• Selecting a family physician and dentist
• Assisting with applying for provincial health card
• Enrolling children in school and adults in ESL
• Introducing newcomers to their Jama’at members
• Providing orientation with regard to banking services, transportation, etc. Helping in employment search
• Providing emotional and moral support
