Eidul Adhaa and Hajj
Insha`Allah! Eidul Adhaa will be celebrated across Canada on Sunday, August 11th, 2019. It is celebrated to remember the spirit of the sacrifice of Hadhrat Ibrahim (as) (Prophet Abraham) for the sake of Allah.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said:
“The first thing to be done on this day (first day of Eidul Adhiya) is to pray; and after returning from the prayer we slaughter our sacrifices (in the name of Allah) and whoever does so, he acted according to our Sunnah (traditions).”
Eid is a day of much rejoicing and happiness. Muslims offer the special prayers in the morning and then enjoy the rest of the day with their friends and families. Eid is celebrated for three days. Eidul Adhiya marks the end of Hajj.
The holy month of Ramadhan is starting on Saturday, March 1, 2025 which will be the first day of fasting.
