Eid Festival – 2023

Eid is a day of celebration! Muslims celebrate this day after fasting for a whole month during the Holy Month of Ramadhan. Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at, Innisfil is expanding its celebration to the broader community of Innisfil Town. Rabbi Shaanan Scherer grew up in Toronto and moved to Israel in 2002. He has spent most of his time in Israel studying in various schools. He graduated from Canadian and Israeli universities with a BA, B.Ed and MA in Jewish History and Education.  He became a Rabbi while learning in Israel and earned a tour guide license from the Israel Ministry of Tourism in 2007. Shaanan met his wife in Jerusalem and they got married in 2006 and currently have five children. The Scherer family currently reside in Thornhill, Ontario.  Rav Shaanan teaches Religious studies full time in a Jewish Day School and during summer and winter vacations he guides various groups both in Israel and Toronto.
 
Sadiq Ahmed is a Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. He received his degree in Islamic Theology and comparative religions from the Ahmadiyya institute of Islamic studies in the year 2012. Since then he has served in the head office of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Vaughan, Mississauga and is currently serving as a Missionary in Vaughan.
 

Greg Armstrong has been married for 14 years to Caitlin. They have been blessed with a daughter named Eliana. Greg has served as a Pastor for the past 8 years. He recently planted a new church called Saturate Church. It’s an evangelical Baptist church community that meets in homes across the west-end GTA. Greg studied Religious Studies and Theology at Tyndale University and the University of Toronto. He has a passion to give consistent Biblical answers to the tough questions we face in our culture, and to equip the Christian church with firm theological foundations for all aspects of life, and to mobilize Christians to open their homes to their neighbours and to step out to share the good news of their King Jesus in their communities. Greg has been involved in leading regular weekly dialogues between his community and ours for the past two years.
